Vice President Sara Duterte paid tribute to national and modern-day heroes in her “Araw ng mga Bayani” post on her social media accounts on Monday, August 25.
“On this day, we remember the heroism of all Filipinos, who offered their lives and strength for the sake of the Philippines. We recognize their bravery, greatness and unity for our sovereignty,” she said in Filipino.
The vice president also honored the members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, along with teachers, doctors, nurses, and front-liners who continuously serve the country.
Additionally, VP Sara recognized Overseas Filipino Workers for their sacrifices and contributions to their families and to the Philippines.
“To every Filipino who fights for their family, for others, and for the nation—you are a hero. Each of us has the power to change the course of our lives and our country. I offer my salute to every Filipino who chooses to be a hero in these modern times,” she added.
