The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has deployed more enforcers to ease traffic near La Salle Green Hills, a daily chokepoint along Ortigas Avenue in Mandaluyong City.
MMDA thanked the school administration for sending additional security personnel in response to its call for stricter interventions to reduce congestion. Chairman Don Artes said the measure will help improve traffic flow during student drop-off and pick-up.
The agency earlier reported 1,556 No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP) violations since July, mostly illegal parking, obstruction, and unauthorized loading or unloading. Between July 11 and August 14 alone, 1,341 new violations were recorded.
Artes said continuous violations not only worsen traffic but also compromise commuter safety. The MMDA also filed a complaint with the LTO against a female motorist who argued with and name-dropped an officer after being flagged by an enforcer.
The incident, which happened August 8 in front of the school, involved a van that caused heavy congestion. The MMDA asked the LTO to impose disciplinary action.
