American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift announced her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” after speculations fueled by cryptic posts and a countdown on her official website.
The rumors began when her marketing team posted a carousel of 12 photos on its social media.
“Thinking about when she said ‘See you next era,’” it wrote.
Hours later, her boyfriend, NFL player Travis Kelce, confirmed that she would appear on his “New Heights” podcast, and Taylor’s website launched a countdown to 12:12 a.m. ET.

The album title was revealed in a clip from Travis’ podcast and made available for pre-order on her website. Pre-order customers received a message stating the album would ship before Oct. 13 but that “this is not the release date.” The official release date has not been confirmed.
Taylor’s last album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” was released in 2024 and broke the Spotify record for most streams in a single day. She concluded her Eras tour in December after 149 shows in 53 cities, including eight nights at Wembley Stadium in London. The tour generated an estimated £1 billion for the U.K. economy.
In May, the award-winning singer announced she had bought back the rights to her first six albums, ending a years-long battle over her master recordings. She has re-released four of the six albums, with two more still to come.
