The United States government has allocated an additional P13.8-million to assist over 3,000 families, or around 15,800 individuals staying in evacuation centers in Rizal, Laguna, Bulacan, and Pampanga provinces following amid severe flooding caused by three tropical storms worsened by the southwest monsoon or habagat.

In a statement, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Philippines’ Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) announced they delivered repair kits containing basic construction tools and materials to help families rebuild their damaged homes.

The IOM vowed to continue monitoring the conditions of the evacuees to ensure their health and well-being.
