RELIGIOUS and civic leaders from across the Bangsamoro region convened at Notre Dame University on August 5 for the Faith and Peace in Action multi-sectoral dialogue organized by the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) and the Mindanao Religious Leaders Conference (MiRLeC),
The event aimed to promote peaceful, credible, and values-based citizen participation in the first Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliamentary elections this October.
MiRLeC, an interfaith body revived in 2024, brings together Christian, Muslim, and Indigenous leaders to call for moral leadership and inclusive peace-building.
Speakers, including OPAPRU Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. and MiRLeC chairman Bishop Edwin dela Peña, emphasized the role of moral values in countering electoral violence and fostering unity.
