Vicor’s newest solo act Angelo Miguel wants to leave a legacy

Former InnerVoices vocalist Angelo Miguel is ready to take center stage as a solo artist under Vicor Music, a label under Viva Music Group, bringing with him not just years of experience but also a clear vision of the legacy he hopes to leave in OPM.

At a press conference held on July 31 at VIVA Café in Araneta City, the 33-year-old singer-songwriter opened up about the emotional weight of going solo after five years with InnerVoices.

“I’ve had mixed emotions since the beginning. I couldn’t sleep properly for months,” he said. “But I told myself—if I don’t do this now, when will I ever?”

While known for his rock roots, Angelo admitted he’s been adjusting to more mainstream material.

“It’s not easy to interpret love songs,” he said. “But we all have something to draw from emotionally.”

He credited his longtime friend for guiding him through the softer vocal delivery needed for Mula Ngayon, recorded with a more subdued, heartfelt tone.

He also shared that songwriting has always been his deepest passion. “I consider myself more of a songwriter than a belter,” he said.

“There are songs I wrote long ago—like Isasayaw Kita and Masilayan Ka Lang Muli—that I hope people will remember even when I’m no longer around.”

Angelo revealed that leaving InnerVoices was a leap of faith. “I had no direction at first. I didn’t know where I was going,” he said.

That uncertainty eventually led him to Spryta Studios in Mandaluyong, where award-winning sound engineer Rene Serna helped him shape his debut solo material and encouraged him to pitch it to Vicor.

He credited his years with InnerVoices for shaping him, but said it was time to carve his own path.

“I may still be young, but in terms of industry experience, I’ve been around long enough. If I don’t start now, I might never get the chance,” he said.

Now officially part of the Vicor Music roster, Angelo Miguel said he feels both nervous and excited to finally share his music with a wider audience.

His ultimate goal? “I want to leave behind something meaningful. When I’m gone, I want people to still have my songs. I want to be remembered.”

Angelo’s solo debut was marked by the release of his EP Magkaibang Mundo on August 1, now available on streaming platforms.

The three-track collection—Magkaibang Mundo, Masilayan Kang Muli, and Mula Ngayon—explores themes of love, longing, and emotional reconnection.

With a clear message and a fresh start, Angelo is embracing the next phase of his career—one lyric at a time.
