The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) continue to enjoy strong public confidence and satisfaction, emerging as two of the most trusted and best-performing government institutions in the country, according to the July 2025 Tugon ng Masa (TNM) Survey released on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the PNP earned the trust of 71% of respondents and a performance satisfaction rating of 73%.

The latest survey results reflect a significant rise in public perception since the April 2025 round.

The AFP saw its trust score jump by 16 percentage points, while satisfaction with its performance rose by 17 points.

The PNP also recorded gains, with trust increasing by nine points and performance ratings climbing by 11 points.

In terms of geographic breakdown, trust in the AFP ranged from 73% in the National Capital Region to 87% in Mindanao.

Socioeconomically, the military enjoyed the highest trust among Class E at 87%, while Class ABC recorded the lowest at 70%.

Only 2% of respondents expressed distrust for the AFP, while 3% signified dissatisfaction with its performance.

The PNP had slightly higher figures, registering 6% distrust and 7% dissatisfaction in the survey.

Ambivalence — or those undecided — was more noticeable in Metro Manila (24%) and among Class ABC respondents (27%).

The TNM survey was conducted via face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adult respondents nationwide.
