Bill extends realty tax amnesty by three years

BATAAN First District Rep. Antonino Roman has filed a bill seeking to extend the real estate tax amnesty period under Republic Act No. 11213 (as amended) for another three years ending in June 14, 2028.

House Bill 609 aims to give more families, especially those facing financial or legal difficulties, enough time to settle unpaid estate taxes, transfer land titles, and make productive use of inherited property.

The measure keeps the current procedures for filing and payment and calls on the Department of Finance and the Bureau of Internal Revenue to issue updated guidelines.

Roman said many heirs still struggle with legal issues, missing documents, or lack of money. The bill supports fair tax collection, land security, and economic growth in both rural and urban communities.
