ABS-CBN woos Gen Z clicks with ‘The Four Bad Boys and Me’

The country’s leading content producer is bringing back all the highs and heartbreaks of high school with its first original YouTube movie, The Four Bad Boys and Me, a screen adaptation of the massively popular Wattpad series by blue_maiden, which has racked up over 326 million reads.

The movie, which premiered last night on the ABS-CBN Entertainment YouTube channel, features rising young stars Anji Salvacion, Gelo Rivera, Harvey Bautista, Dustine Mayores, and River Joseph in a coming-of-age story filled with school crushes, messy friendships, and teenage growing pains.

Whether you’re a long-time fan of the Wattpad version or just in the mood for a feel-good teen drama, The Four Bad Boys and Me promises plenty of emotion, conflict, and yes, a little bit of romance.

The story follows Candice (Anji), a quiet senior whose world is turned upside down when she’s unexpectedly thrust into the spotlight and into the lives of four of the school’s most talked-about boys. What begins as mutual annoyance quickly shifts into something more complicated, especially when Candice gets a major confidence boost after being chosen as the “Ms. Campus” representative.

Gelo, who takes on his first acting role as the group’s arrogant leader Jeydon, admitted he felt nervous but excited. “Aside from the pressure, I’m grateful to be part of this project and work with this team. It was a rollercoaster of emotions,” he said during the cast’s media conference held July 25.

Anji, meanwhile, shared how the story resonated with her from a young age. “Since Grade 9, my classmates and I would wait for every chapter. It’s a relatable story. And doing this role really pushed me out of my comfort zone,” she said.

River Joseph—dubbed the ‘green flag’ of Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition—plays Charles, the troublemaker who also happens to be Candice’s protective older brother. “Viewers will see a different side of me here,” he teased.

Completing the onscreen quartet are Harvey Bautista as the mysterious Marky and Dustine Mayores as Troy, the resident lover boy—both ready to bring “good vibes and romantic feels,” as they described it.

Director Benedict Mique, known for rom-coms like Wild Little Love and MOMOL Nights, helms the adaptation, staying close to the story’s original tone while tapping into the nostalgic chaos of high school life.

Supporting cast members Brent Manalo, AC Bonifacio, Analain Salvador, Gela Alonte, and Krystal Brimner are also on board, rounding out the drama with familiar Gen Z faces.

Early access to the film was available on July 29 for Super Kapamilya YouTube members, just ahead of its global premiere.
