QUEZON City’s premier destination, Luxent Hotel, celebrates its 13th anniversary this July with a renewed commitment to heartfelt hospitality, community engagement, and forward-thinking innovation.
At the helm is General Manager Melanie Siy-Pagkalinawan, whose journey from the front desk to leadership defines the very spirit of Luxent: hands-on, people-centered, and built on years of dedication to service.
Pagkalinawan’s hospitality career began at an entry-level position, where she first discovered the intricate and fast-paced nature of hotel operations. She immersed herself in all aspects of the business—front office, food and beverage, sales and marketing, housekeeping, security, and engineering—developing a holistic understanding of what makes a hotel thrive.
One defining moment came when she assumed her first managerial post, which taught her the weight of accountability and the importance of building and supporting a strong team.
“Becoming General Manager here at Luxent has been both an honor and a big responsibility,” she says. “It’s given me the chance to use everything I’ve learned and keep growing with my team.”
Team Culture: The Backbone of Luxent
Today, Luxent’s team culture is anchored in respect, collaboration, and a shared goal of delivering excellent service. Pagkalinawan describes the environment as one where “every employee feels valued, and when employees are happy, guests are happy too.”
This spirit was on full display recently when the hotel successfully hosted over 800 guests. Departments worked seamlessly together, earning glowing feedback—a testament to the strong, unified team culture Pagkalinawan continues to nurture through open communication and empowerment.
In step with global hospitality trends, Luxent has elevated its food and beverage offerings to become more than just a convenience—it’s an experience. The Lush Bar & Lounge remains a favorite among locals and hotel guests alike, while the Garden Café has become known for its flavorful Churrasco Buffet Nights and weekend International Buffets.
Soundbox KTV Rooms and the Vertigo Roof Deck Pool Bar now feature refreshed menus, blending scenic skyline views with modern dining. Under the leadership of a newly appointed Executive Chef, the hotel has also introduced authentic Italian à la carte dishes, bringing fresh creativity and flavors to the table.
A Complete Destination
With 255 rooms, three dining outlets, two grand ballrooms, small meeting rooms, two pools, a fitness center, and the distinction of being the only hotel in Quezon City with a KTV and Game Room, Luxent Hotel continues to be a one-stop destination for leisure and business travelers alike.
Guests can take advantage of the Fun & Fit Game Room, work out at the Fitness Center, enjoy panoramic views from the Vertigo Roof Deck Pool, or host large-scale events at the Celestial Ballroom. Its prime location also puts visitors near key Quezon City attractions, making it a central hub for exploring the area.
True hospitality extends beyond hotel walls. Luxent has made community outreach a tradition—hosting annual blood donation drives, feeding programs, and visiting homes for the aged, orphanages, and children with cancer or on the autism spectrum.
Most recently, Luxent partnered with local government units to support an LGBTQ+ Fun Run, promoting inclusion, wellness, and unity. “Through these efforts, we aim to share kindness, create joy, and build meaningful connections within our local community,” says Pagkalinawan.
Looking Ahead: Sustainability and Innovation
As Luxent celebrates 13 years, it’s also looking toward the future. The hotel is investing in technology to streamline check-ins, enhance in-room systems, and improve operations. Sustainability is another priority, with initiatives to reduce single-use plastics, adopt greener alternatives, and work with eco-conscious suppliers.
On the guest experience side, Luxent has expanded booking options across digital channels and maintains an active social media presence to keep guests informed and inspired. Professional development remains at the heart of the hotel’s long-term strategy, ensuring staff have opportunities to grow alongside the brand.
Thirteen years on, Luxent Hotel is more than just a place to stay—it’s a community landmark where every detail is designed with care, and every guest is welcomed like family. Guided by a leader who knows the ins and outs of hospitality from the ground up, Luxent stands ready to embrace its next chapter with the same values that built its success: quality, service, and community.
