Team Liquid PH sends ONIC Esports to lower bracket, secures playoffs spot in MSC 2025

In a fiery clash filled with unrestrained hype, back-and-forth teamfights, and confident declarations, Team Liquid PH (TLPH) stamped its dominance over Indonesian powerhouse ONIC Esports, securing a coveted playoffs berth in the MLBB Mid Season Cup 2025 at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh.

The series, touted as one of the most intense showdowns of the tournament so far, tested the cohesion and composure of both squads. ONIC managed to outlast TLPH in a grueling 25-minute Game 1, but momentum shifted when Filipino marksman Kiel “Oheb” Soriano delivered a stunning objective steal in Game 2 that turned the tide.

“We lost the early game. But when Oheb stole the Lord, it gave us the momentum and hype,” said veteran jungler Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno.
“In the comms, I actually told them: ‘I will get this. Kuha ko ‘to pre.’ Then I threw my SOD and actually got it,” Oheb recounted, describing the adrenaline-charged moment that rallied TLPH to victory.

With their confidence surging, Team Liquid PH dismantled ONIC’s defenses in Game 3, pushing the Sky Kings into the lower bracket. The win cements TLPH’s reputation as one of the top contenders in the tournament.

Midlaner Sanji, unfazed by the challenge of facing another finals MVP, exuded confidence when asked about the match.
“I think nothing (much). Iniisip ko lang na normal na tao lang din naman siya e. Kaso mas malupit pa rin talaga ko doon e,” Sanji said, highlighting the team’s unshakable mindset.

Fans were abuzz over KarlTzy’s hero picks, particularly Lancelot and Aamon, during his much-anticipated showdown with fellow Filipino jungler Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol.
“I think Lancelot is really OP (overpowered) right now, especially with a semi-tank, semi-damage build. For Aamon, I haven’t really tried it yet, but I see some potential,” KarlTzy shared.

Team Liquid PH becomes the second team overall to qualify for the MSC 2025 playoffs. Meanwhile, Kairi will face another Filipino jungler, Andrew “Andoryuuu” Lew Flora, in a decisive lower-bracket match for a playoff spot.
