With the rainy season in full swing, choosing the right area to stay in Metro Manila becomes crucial. Frequent downpours and sudden flooding can disrupt plans, making it important to find neighborhoods that offer comfort, convenience, and minimal flood risk.
Here are some of the best places to consider:
BGC, Taguig
Modern roads, reliable drainage, and everything within walking distance. BGC is built for convenience: Uptown, High Street, SM Aura, and St. Luke’s are all nearby. Even when it rains, you can still get around without much trouble.
Rockwell, Makati
Quiet, secure, and self-contained. With Power Plant Mall right in the middle, most people staying in Rockwell don’t even need to go far. It’s a solid choice if you’re after a place that keeps things calm when the weather’s unpredictable.
Ortigas Center
Right in the middle of the metro, Ortigas is close to malls like SM Megamall and The Podium, as well as offices and transport hubs. Some side streets may see flooding, but the main roads around ADB Avenue and within the business district usually hold up well.
Vertis North and Eastwood, Quezon City
Both are live-work-play areas, which help when the rain keeps you in. Vertis North is near Trinoma and Ayala Malls, while Eastwood has its own shops, restaurants, and even office spaces in one walkable space.
Newport City, Pasay
If you’re flying in or out, Newport is worth considering. It’s close to the airport and has everything from hotels to casinos and restaurants within a few blocks. Flooding in Pasay can be tricky in other parts, but Newport itself is generally well-kept.
