Rotary Club’s new leader unveils bold community agenda

Beautéderm Corporation president and CEO Rhea Anicoche-Tan was officially inducted as president of the Rotary Club of Balibago on July 18 in a ceremony held at Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort. With a message centered on inclusivity and advocacy, Anicoche-Tan unveiled key projects for her term aimed at community empowerment.

“When you’re granted a seat at the table, let others sit beside you. Advocate for and beside them,” she said during her speech. “Don’t leave anyone out, everyone belongs to everyone.”

The head of the beauty and lifestyle brand takes over from the previous leadership under Rotary International District 3790. Family, friends, and Beautéderm ambassadors, including Piolo Pascual, PBB Celebrity Collab ex-housemate Josh Ford, beauty queen Thia Tomalla, Kimson Tan, Jillian Vicencio, Ervic Vijandre, Kakai Bautista, Kitkat, and Ejay Falcon, were present during the induction and turnover ceremony.

Wasting no time, the entrepreneur introduced three major initiatives focusing on education, wellness, and health.

The first, “Rise Up, Glow Up,” is a partnership with Beautéderm’s aesthetic clinic, BeauteHaus. It will provide 20 college students with free skincare services and products to support mental wellness and boost self-esteem.

“Dahil ang problema ngayon, mental health issues at kasama dun ang skin problem, nawawalan sila ng self-confidence,” she explained. “This project will help students attain their full potential by improving their confidence through self-care.”

She also mentioned that the program includes wellness education in universities, aiming to inspire what she called “glowing success stories.”

The second initiative, “Yes to Love,” is a fundraising campaign for Rotary’s End Polio Now drive. Beautéderm will contribute five pesos from every purchase made at selected outlets (Beautéderm Headquarters, SM Baguio, SM Clark, and Marquee Mall).

“The Beautéderm Corporation gladly announces that P5 from every single receipt purchase will be contributed to the Rotary End Polio Campaign,” she noted. “This will demonstrate that, as a club, we place a high importance on efforts to address health concerns.”

She added that franchisees across the country, including those in Visayas and Mindanao, will be encouraged to take part in the initiative.

The third program involves expanding Contribeaut, her foundation supporting scholars from underprivileged backgrounds. Under the Rotary Club of Balibago, 50 Kapampangans will now be supported through college, from first year to graduation.

“To date, we have 50 college scholars in Ilocos Sur, in UNP where I finished my secondary education,” she said. “To all the employees of Beautéderm, we provide scholarship assistance—up to three kids per employee, or a sibling if childless.”

She shared that she was taught to view education as a tool to “transform the impossible into the attainable.”

Also during her remarks, Anicoche-Tan stressed the importance of using leadership for service.

“While we are proud of our position, we must use our privilege, voice, and success to benefit others,” she emphasized. “These three projects advocate for others rather than ourselves, as does this club, which has prioritized others over itself.”

She concluded with a message to fellow Rotarians and partners: “In our quest to be the best organization, we must never lose sight of what truly matters—uplifting others, seeing them for who they are, connecting with them, giving them a voice, and motivating the next generation of advocates to unite for good.”
