Ice Seguerra releases self-penned singles ahead of new album drop

Ice Seguerra has released a pair of self-penned singles, “Nandiyan Ka” and “Wag Na Lang Pala,” marking a new chapter in his two-decade music career as he embraces his role as a songwriter.

Seguerra, known for OPM hits such as “Pagdating ng Panahon” and “Para Lang Sa’yo,” said the new songs reflect a more personal approach to music.

“I’ve spent most of my career giving life to other people’s words. This time, I get to give life to mine,” he said in a statement.

“Nandiyan Ka,” written with ABS-CBN Music’s Jonathan Manalo, is a tribute to Seguerra’s late father, Daddy Dick. The song tells the story of a love that remained constant but went unrecognized until it was too late.

“It’s about someone who loved you consistently, but you didn’t see it,” Seguerra said.

The second track, “Wag Na Lang Pala,” co-written with his wife Liza Diño-Seguerra, explores a relationship that never found the right timing.

Both singles will be included in Seguerra’s upcoming album, Being Ice, his first full-length solo release in 10 years. The album, featuring entirely self-written material, will be released under Fire and Ice Music and distributed by Star Music on Aug. 8.

“Nandiyan Ka” and “Wag Na Lang Pala” are now available on major streaming platforms.
