Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel embraced local fashion culture during her visit to Cubao, Quezon City, where she went ukay-ukay shopping for pieces to upcycle.
In a vlog shared on YouTube, Gabriel browsed through thrift stores in the bustling area, looking for jackets and unique items for an upcoming trip.
“I want to find clothes to upcycle, crochet… for my next collection,” she said.
Her haul included several jackets and a rare baby blue vest, all for ₱5,000. “Cubao was a success!” she said, smiling as she showed off her finds.
Known for promoting sustainability in fashion, Gabriel shared plans to transform her ukay-ukay picks into new designs.
“I’m going to cut these open, deconstruct, and reconstruct and make a super bomb outfit,” she told viewers.
