MMDA brings flood plan in Mandaluyong

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) brought its Bayanihan sa Barangay Project to Barangay Addition Hills in Mandaluyong City as part of its community outreach and flood mitigation campaign.

Chairman Don Artes said MMDA personnel conducted various activities, including flushing, misting, and cleaning operations at the Mandaluyong Public Market II. Dredging and declogging efforts were also held at Maytunas Creek, along with traffic sign and lane marking repairs.

Artes emphasized the importance of addressing flooding issues and said the agency is exploring the addition of two more pumping stations in the area. Mayor Menchie Abalos thanked the MMDA for its continued support, especially in flood-prone zones like Maysilo Circle.

Alongside Mandaluyong officials and Rep. Queenie Gonzales, the MMDA oversaw tree pruning, sidewalk clearing, and waste management activities. They also repainted yellow boxes and pedestrian lanes in the barangay.
