Grimace teases nationwide party with surprise visits across the metro

McDonald’s iconic character Grimace made surprise appearances in Metro Manila last July 12 and 13, delighting parkgoers with photo ops and giveaways during unannounced visits to Quezon Memorial Circle, Bonifacio Global City, and parts of Manila.

The lovable purple mascot interacted with fans and handed out special gift packs, turning an ordinary weekend into a fun-filled prelude to his upcoming nationwide party.

Grimace’s party took place on July 17, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., in select McDonald’s branches across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The event was free and open to fans of all ages.

To join, participants were required to pre-register in person at any participating McDonald’s store by July 16. A store representative assisted in scanning a QR code and completing the online registration. Each successful registrant received one physical invitation valid for one attendee.

Registration had to be done in person—friends or representatives were not allowed to register on someone else’s behalf. Sign-ups without the attendee’s physical presence were considered invalid.

The invitation had to be presented on the day of the event. No invite, no entry.

Attendees were also required to wear something purple—whether a shirt, pants, or a full outfit—and were encouraged to go all out. Guests were invited to take photos and videos during the event and share them online using the hashtag #McDoGrimaceParty.
