The eight Filipino seafarers of Greek-operated MV Eternity C, who survived a terrorist attack in the Red Sea, safely arrived on Wednesday evening at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 in Pasay City, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has reported.

The seafarers traveled from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where they briefly stayed and were assisted by the OWWA Migrant Workers Office and the Philippine Consulate General of the Department of Foreign Affairs for their repatriation.

All eight will receive financial assistance from DMW, OWWA, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, medical care from the Department of Health, comprehensive reintegration support from the Technical Education Skills Development Authority, and other government agencies.

MV Eternity C, a bulk carrier sailing under the flag of Liberia, is one of the two commercial vessels attacked by Houthi rebels while navigating the Red Sea in Yemen. It was assaulted with sea drones and rocket-propelled grenades, resulting in the deaths of four crew, according to reports.
