The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) said Friday it signed a supplemental agreement with FUJIFILM Optics Philippines Inc. (FOPH) for the latter’s P95-million remanufacturing project in Calamba, Laguna.
“FUJIFILM has been a valued PEZA locator since 2012, starting with optical lens production and expanding into camera assembly. This latest investment signals Japan’s continued confidence in our investment landscape and supports our goal of innovation-led, sustainable industrialization,” said PEZA director-general Tereso Panga.
The project, which involves the remanufacturing of multifunction printers at FOPH’s facility in Carmelray International Business Park, is set to begin commercial operations by April 2026, establishing the Philippines as FUJIFILM Business Innovation’s official hub for remanufactured products in the ASEAN region.
It is also expected to generate skilled jobs while promoting circular production practices.
FOPH, a subsidiary of FUJIFILM Corp., the global imaging and information technology firm, employs about 2,400 workers.
Panga said Japan remains the Philippines’ top foreign investor in PEZA zones, with over P550 billion in cumulative investments and more than 300,000 Filipinos employed.
