The Department of Agrarian Reform has awarded land titles to 30 farmer-beneficiaries of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program and erased the unpaid amortizations of 17 farmers in Pangasinan.
In a statement on Wednesday, the agency announced that Field Operations Undersecretary Kazel Celeste recently spearheaded the ceremonial distribution of land titles, highlighting the government’s unwavering commitment to land tenure security and rural development.
DAR’s award covered over 44 hectares of agricultural land in Barangay Malimpin, Dasol, under Presidential Decree No. 27 of 1972, the country’s land transfer program.
To solidify President Marcos’ promise to liberate farmers from the burden of land-related debts, the DAR’s Pangasinan regional office also distributed 19 certificates of condonation with the release of mortgage to 17 CARP farmers.
The certificates effectively canceled P864,000 worth of unpaid amortizations under the New Agrarian Emancipation Act.
Simultaneously, DAR inaugurated the newly completed P12-million Tambac Uni-Bridge in Barangay Tambac, Dagupan City, also in Pangasinan, to benefit over 1,000 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) from the Malimpin Agrarian Reform Community.
“This bridge is more than just concrete and steel. It is a bridge to opportunity that gives our ARBs faster and safer access to markets and essential services,” Celeste said.
