#WalangPasok: Luzon LGUs suspend July 4 classes after heavy rainfall forecast

Several local government units (LGUs) across Luzon declared class suspensions on Thursday evening ahead of the heavy rainfall forecast for Friday, July 4, due to the low pressure area (LPA) and the southwest monsoon. 

Among the LGUs that made early declarations include:

– Cavite (preschool to senion high school in public and private schools across the province) 
– Bataan (all levels public and private) 
– Ilocos Sur (all levels public and private)
– Candaba and Masantol, Pampanga (all levels public and private)
– Macabebe, Pampanga (onsite classes from preschool to senior high school public and private)
– La Paz, Tarlac (all levels public and private) 
– Santiago and Tagudin, Ilocos Sur (all levels public and private)
– Bauang, La Union (preschool to elementary public and private)
– Sudipen, La Union (all levels public and private)
– Manaoag, Pozzorubio and Umingan, Pangasinan (all levels public and private)
– Dagupan City, Pangasinan (onsite classes from preschool to senior high school public and private) 

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned of 100 to 200 millimeter rainfall over Ilocos Norte on Friday due to the LPA. 

Batanes, Cagayan, Apayao, Kalinga and Abra, meanwhile, can expect 50 to 100 mm of rains attributed to the same weather disturbance. 

The southwest monsoon or ‘habagat,’ meanwhile, continues to threaten the following areas with a heavy rainfall outlook: Pangasinan, Zambales and Bataan (100 to 200 mm); 

Metro Manila, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Benguet, Ifugao, Mountain Province, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, Cavite, Batangas and Occidental Mindoro (50 to 100 mm).
