Palace to inform Marcos on alleged candidacy of ‘Totoy’ under PFP

Malacañang on Thursday said it would inform President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. about reports that the key witness linked to the case of missing sabungeros ran for mayor in Surigao del Sur under the political party he chairs.

Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary Claire Castro responded to questions regarding the political bid of Julie ‘Dondon’ Patidongan, also known as Alyas “Totoy,” a key witness in the high-profile disappearance of several cockfighting enthusiasts.

Patidongan reportedly ran for mayor of Barobo, Surigao del Sur under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), the same party chaired by the President.

“As of now, we have not received any official information regarding that issue,” Castro said during a media briefing.

“Nonetheless, we will relay it to the President so he can be made aware,” she added.

Patidongan earlier surfaced as a witness and named individuals allegedly involved in the abduction and presumed killing of several sabungeros who went missing between 2021 and 2022.

His revelations have revived public interest in the stalled investigations.

The PFP has yet to issue a statement on whether Patidongan was an official candidate of the party or if he had any direct connection with its national leadership.
