OPM singer and songwriter Ice Seguerra announced the passing of his mother, Caridad “Mommy Caring” Seguerra, in a heartfelt Instagram post on Friday, June 27. She died at 7:54 a.m., he shared.
Seguerra described his mother as “the most amazing woman I’ve ever known,” recalling how she supported him throughout his life.
“Every show, every gig, every milestone, she was there,” he wrote, calling her his “first teacher” and “constant cheerleader.”
He fondly remembered her care, sharing how she would send his favorite food and give him massages when he was unwell. Seguerra added that she was “my fiercest protector” who embraced him fully.
Seguerra promised to carry on her legacy of bravery. “I won’t fail you. Promise ko ‘yun,” he said, adding that he and his brother would draw strength from her memory.
He conveyed gratitude to friends and fans for their messages of support as the family prepares wake arrangements, which will be announced in the coming days.
