Foam and mattress manufacturer Uratex said it tapped ACEN RES, the retail electricity arm of the Ayala Group, to transition four additional facilities to 100-percent renewable energy.
Uratex said in a statement its facilities in Magallanes, Shaw, Marcos Highway (Metro Manila) and Isabela now join seven other Uratex locations across Luzon and Cebu already powered by renewable sources under the Green Energy Option Program (GEOP), a government initiative allowing electricity consumers to shift to renewable energy and choose their supplier.
Miguel de Jesus, managing director and chief operating officer for Philippine Operations at ACEN, welcomed Uratex’s expanded commitment to renewable energy.
“This partnership not only helps accelerate the sustainability journey of Uratex but also enables ACEN to build more renewable energy capacity and support the country’s goal of increasing the share of renewables in the energy mix,” de Jesus said.
