The images circulated on social media, coinciding with news reports about the International Criminal Court (ICC) having issued a warrant for the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte for alleged crimes against humanity.
Duterte on Sunday flew to Hong Kong ostensibly to attend a campaign rally organized for Filipino workers in the territory.
Duterte’s camp said the former president went to Hong Kong to campaign for his senatorial candidates, and not to avoid arrest.
