Cops seize P4.8m shabu in Taguig City buy-bust

Police arrested a high-value target known by the alias “Sherhana,” and seized P4.8 million worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation late Wednesday night in South Signal, Taguig City.

The suspect is now detained at the Taguig City Police Station Custodial Facility, while criminal complaints for violating Sections 5 (sale) and 11 (possession) of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied against her.

Aside from the 708.5 grams of shabu, authorities also recovered from the suspect a lavender paper bag, and a genuine P1,000 bill (marked money) and forty-nine pieces of counterfeit P1,000 bills (boodle money) used in the entrapment operation.

Southern Police District Director Brig. Gen. Manuel Abrugena commended the team from Taguig City Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) for their latest accomplishment.

“This operation highlights our dedication to safeguarding our communities from the devastating impact of illegal drugs,” Abrugena said.

Abrugena urged the public to actively participate in the government’s anti-drug campaign by reporting any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods.

“Together, the vigilance of law enforcement and citizens will pave the way for a safer, drug-free society.”
