Army Chief Lt. Gen. Roy Galido emphasized the Army Brigade’s crucial role in safeguarding national security and maintaining peace during his visit to the headquarters of the 1st Mechanized “Maaasahan” Brigade (1Mech Bde) of the Armor Division in Tacurong, Sultan Kudarat.
In his address, Galido acknowledged the vital contributions of the 1Mech Bde in ensuring national security and upholding peace and order in the region.
He commended the Maaasahan troops for their unwavering commitment to duty, professionalism, and exemplary performance in various operations.
The army chief also highlighted the brigade’s recent achievement in dismantling the Guerilla Front Musa, which resulted in the awarding of the CGPA Bayanihan Streamer Award.
The concerted efforts of the brigade and its operational control units were recognized by the CGPA as “a shining example of the best that the Philippine Army has to offer.”
Furthermore, Lt. Gen. Galido shared his vision for the Philippine Army, emphasizing modernization, professional development, and a constant pursuit of excellence.
He also urged troops to focus on enhancing their leadership, integrity, teamwork, and resilience in the face of current and emerging security challenges.
Galido reminded them that they are not only soldiers but also “ambassadors of the Philippine Army,” stressing that their actions reflect on the entire organization.
