SMART Omega, powered by stellar performances from Andrew “Andoryuu” Flora and Jomari “JOWM” Pingol, overcame RSG Philippines, 2-1, during the final weekend matches of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 14 on Friday at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati.
Andoryuu’s precise play as Ling and JOWM’s mastery with his Lumox mage carried Smart Omega through the second and third rounds of their best-of-three series, helping them recover from a 13-8 defeat in the first round.
The team bounced back with an 11-4 win in round two and a dominant 17-6 victory in round three.
This victory catapulted Smart Omega to the No. 3 spot in the standings, solidifying their 8-5 win-loss record and securing a spot in the finals playoff alongside top teams like Fnatic-Onic, Falcon AP.Bren, Aurora, and Team Liquid.
Coach Ronel Tan tempered the excitement after the win, saying, “I can’t say it’s our best game.
But this game more or less set the limit for them (RSG Philippines).”
