GMA Public Affairs’ bi-monthly documentary program, The Atom Araullo Specials, has secured another major victory for the network. The episode “Hingang Malalim” earned the Silver Dolphin Trophy at the Cannes Corporate Media and TV Awards in France.
First aired in 2023, The Atom Araullo Specials: Hingang Malalim explored the lives of pearl divers in Sulu, particularly focusing on Tatay Bulloh, a diver who risks his life in search of pearls to support his family.
Award-winning host Atom Araullo accepted the accolade on behalf of the program and GMA Network.
Earlier this year, the same documentary won a Silver Medal at the 2024 New York Festivals TV & Film Awards in the Documentary: Human Concerns category.
In 2022, The Atom Araullo Specials earned its first win at the Cannes Corporate Media and TV Awards when the episode “Munting Bisig” won a Silver Medal in the Human Concerns and Social Issues category.
The Cannes Corporate Media and TV Awards, held annually in France, celebrate the world’s best corporate films, online media, and documentaries.
