Hundreds of pet animals, mostly dogs, received blessings on Sunday from Rev. Fr. Argol Chavez at the St. Francis of Assisi Parish (also known as San Francisco de Malabon Church) in Barangay Bagumbayan, General Trias City, Cavite.
Many fur parents took their fur babies to hear mass on September 29, 2024 ahead of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, who is known as the patron saint of pets and animals.

The local government of General Trias City also conducted free anti-rabies vaccination and grooming as well as a pet parade for the participating residents.
The Feast of St. Francis of Assisi is observed by the Catholic community every October 4.
