MPower, the local retail electricity supplier of Manila Electric Co, (Meralco), said Friday it will provide renewable energy supply to power DM Wenceslao Group’s (DMWAI) properties in Parañaque City.
The parties recently signed a retail supply agreement for power supply requirements of establishments under D.M. Wenceslao Group’s wholly-owned subsidiary Aseana Holdings Inc. (AHI).
AHI was established to cater to the development potential of Aseana City—a development project with a total land area of 107 hectares along the coastal waters of Manila Bay.
MPower said the supply agreement marks a significant development for D.M. Wenceslao Group, which is committed to incorporating sustainable practices into its real estate developments by ensuring that their projects not only meet the demands of modern living but also contribute positively to the environment.
“MPower is proud to be with the DM Wenceslao Group in enabling a greener future for everyone. We remain committed to expanding our renewable energy sources and pushing for sustainable economic growth in the Philippines,” Meralco first vice president and MPower head Redel Domingo said.
DMWAI said tapping MPower for supply requirements also aligns well with the company’s goal to source 100 percent of its properties’ power needs from renewable energy in support of global efforts to reduce carbon emissions and promote cleaner energy alternatives.
“We are grateful to have MPower as our trusted partner. Their commitment and expertise ensure that our office buildings and mixed-use developments will benefit from clean and renewable energy,” said DMWAI president and chief executive Delfin Angelo Wenceslao.
The parties said the agreement also sets a precedent for similar collaborations in the industry, highlighting the growing importance of sustainable practices in property management and development.
