Rizal province attains insurgency-free status

RIZAL province has officially been declared insurgency-free, following a ceremonial proclamation of its Stable Internal Peace and Security (SIPS) status held Monday in Antipolo City.

The proclamation according to Philippine Army 2nd Infantry Division spokesman Lt. Col. Jeffrex Molina, was highlighted with the signing of a memorandum of understanding and the unveiling of the SIPS marker, symbolizing a collective commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region.

“This declaration comes after all 13 municipalities and one city in the province achieved SIPS status.” Molina said.

Division commander Brig. Gen. Cerilo Balaoro Jr. noted that this declaration reflects the strong collaboration among government, stakeholders, and communities in addressing the root causes of insurgency, fostering an environment conducive to peace and sustainable development.

Rizal joins Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and Quezon as the provinces in Region IV-A that have achieved insurgency-free status.
