President Ferdinand Marcos vowed that his administration would continue distributing Certificates of Condonation with Release of Mortgage (COCROMs) to Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) in Nueva Ecija.
During the COCROM distribution and agri-credit assistance turnover in Palayan City, President Marcos announced that 4,640 farmers are set to receive their certificates of condonation.
“This isn’t the last time we’ll be giving out COCROM here in Nueva Ecija because there are over [4,000] farmers in your province [who will receive this soon],” the President stated.
“That’s a promise from our brave Secretary of Agrarian Reform,” he added, referring to Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary Conrado Estrella III.
The President led the initial province-wide distribution on Friday, with a total of 6,000 ARBs receiving their certificates.
A total of 13,241 ARBs in the province will benefit from this measure, with more than 4,000 expected to receive their COCROMs in October.
This initiative, part of the New Agrarian Emancipation Act, will erase over 270 million pesos of debt for farmer beneficiaries in Nueva Ecija, easing their financial burdens.
The government will also provide nearly 41 million pesos in loans to over 400 beneficiaries through the Agri-Puhunan at Pantawid Program, launched in partnership with the Department of Agriculture and the Development Bank of the Philippines.
Additionally, the President announced a P1.3 billion aid package under the Ayuda sa Kapos Kita Program (AKAP), benefiting more than 260,000 Filipinos.
