The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters drew double-double performances from Adrian Nocum and Aaron Fuller as they thrashed the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters, 122-107, on Tuesday in the 49th Philippine Basketball Association Governors’ Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium
Nocum tallied 16 points and 10 points for the Elasto Painters, who strengthened their grip of the Group B lead with their 5-1 win-loss record.
Fuller scored of 16 points in the last period, and he had 11 rebounds for the Elasto Painters.
Gian Mamuyac knocked in eight of his 14 points in the fourth quarter, as he and Fuller took charge, and helped push the Elasto Painters away from an 87-85 edge at the end of the third.
Phoenix import Brandone Francis celebrated his birthday with 31 points, and as the Fuel Masters stayed winless in five matches.
Fuller’s split charity with 3:02 left handed the Elasto Painters at 115-101 edge.
They enjoyed their biggest lead at 19 when Andrei Caracut drained a triple, 122-103, at the 1:01 mark.
The Fuel Masters were within reach midway through the fourth at 97-99, when Rain or Shine unleashed an 8-0 run behind Caelan Tiongson’s elbow jumper followed by back-to-back Mamuyac triples to widen the gap, 107-97.
