The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Saturday said details of government personnel involved in the illegal exit of dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo will be revealed soon.
During a news forum in Quezon City, Justice Assistant Secretary and spokesperson Mico Clavano said the investigation is nearing completion.
“Well, they didn’t provide a timeline either… but according to the DOJ Secretary (Jesus Crispin Remulla), any action seems to be happening this month. Although I can’t guarantee that either, because if other factors or new information come up, it might get pushed back,” Clavano said.
He indicated the findings might be made public this month unless new developments arise. However, he cautioned: “If additional facts emerge, the timeline may change.”
Clavano did not reveal the number or identities of the government personnel being investigated, saying he was “not privy to that information.”
He noted the probe is examining the possible involvement of private individuals, suggesting Guo had a supporting network for her escape.
“The POGO network is quite large. There’s a web of bosses, managers, supervisors that may be helping each other as well,” Clavano said.
