‘Enteng’ intensifies into severe tropical storm  

Tropical cyclone Enteng has strengthened into a severe tropical storm, according to the Tuesday 5 p.m. bulletin of state weather bureau PAGASA.

Enteng now has winds of 95 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts up to 115 kph.

As of 3 p.m. on Tuesday, the severe tropical storm was last located 165 kilometers west-northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. It is currently moving west-northwestward at 10 kph.

Meanwhile, Wind Signal No. 1 remains hoisted over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, and northern La Union. The remaining wind signals have since been lifted.

Although Enteng is projected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility on Wednesday morning, it will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon (habagat) until Friday.
