THE Commission on Human Rights (CHR) on Wednesday backed legislative moves to provide adequate housing and improve the overall standards of living for the people.
The CHR particularly cited bills filed in both chambers of Congress on the government’s housing program.
The measures were filed by Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, Tingog party-list Reps. Yedda Marie Romualdez and Jude Acidre, and Senator Jinggoy Estrada.
The CHR specifically cited House Bill No. 00005 and Senate Bill No. 1025 on the government’s resettlement program for informal settlers.
“The Commission calls on the collaboration of the Senate and House to expedite the passage of such bills to provide better living conditions to all Filipino people,” the agency said in a statement.
