“Batang Quiapo” star Coco Martin surprised two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos “Caloy” Yulo during his visit to the ABS-CBN compound on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
While having lunch with ABS-CBN officials, the gymnast was starstruck when Coco unexpectedly dropped by. The two were visibly thrilled to meet each other, and Caloy immediately asked for a photo with the actor.
“I should be the one asking for a photo with you,” said Coco, expressing his admiration for Caloy’s recent win.
Coco also took the opportunity to congratulate Caloy on his historic achievement at the Paris Olympics, where he clinched gold medals in both the floor exercise and vault.
“Unang-una siyempre, nagpapasalamat ang buong Pilipinas. Sobrang proud ang lahat ng mga kababayan talaga sa lahat ng hard work. Thank you so much,” Coco said.
When asked if he would be interested in appearing in Coco’s popular TV series “Batang Quiapo,” Caloy replied that while he’s open to the idea, he’s not confident in his acting abilities.
“Guesting is fine po. Pero mag-act po, hindi ko alam,” Caloy quipped.
Coco suggested that Yulo might be able to make a guest appearance on the show if his schedule allows.
