Israel reaffirms support for the Philippines’ sustainability, community development measures

Environmental sustainability, addressing the impact of climate change, and enhancing community development remain at the forefront of Israel and Philippine 67th diplomatic relations, according to Israel Ambassador to the Philippines Ilan Fluss.

During a recent tree planting ceremony in partnership with Quezon City, Fluss highlighted Israel’s enduring partnership with the Philippines and affirmed its commitment to invest more in the relationship, especially in the area of environmental conservation and sustainability.

“Planting these trees is a testament to the 67 years of historically friendly diplomatic relations between Israel and the Philippines,” Ambassador Fluss shared.

“This initiative not only symbolizes our thriving friendship but also our shared commitment to environmental sustainability, climate change, and community development. I thank the Quezon City government for celebrating this special day with us,” he added.

Fluss also took the time to commemorate the Filipino caregivers in Israel, Angelyn Aguirre, Loreta Alacre, Grace Cabrera, and Paul Castelvi, who were murdered by Hamas on October 7.

“Over the past 10 months, we have unexpectedly built new connections, including bonds forged in the wake of terror,” the Israeli Ambassador said.
