A fetus was discovered in a restroom at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1.
The Philippine National Police – Aviation Security Group (PNP – Avsegroup) report stated that last Tuesday, a janitress was cleaning the female restroom at the east departure area of the terminal when she saw a blood-stained napkin in a garbage can, covering a fetus.
Members of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) Police Department and the MIAA Medical Team headed by Dr. Donita Arnesto responded to the scene and confirmed that the content of the napkin was a one-month-old fetus.
The MIAA police department turned over the fetus to NAIA Police Station 1 for appropriate action and disposition, while members of the PNP Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) also responded to conduct a forensic investigation.
Meanwhile, a joint investigation is being conducted by NAIA Police Station 1, the Airport Police Department, and Police Sub Station 8 to identify and locate the whereabouts of the mother.
