Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco on Tuesday unveiled the Philippines’ plan to become a major cruise tourism hub in Asia, leveraging its 7,641 islands and diverse destinations.
Frasco underscored the need to harness the potential of all regions, provinces, cities and municipalities to create opportunities for the entire country.
“The Philippines is well on its way to becoming a premier cruise destination in Asia, offering diverse experiences and world-class hospitality. With the cruise visa waiver program, international accolades and upcoming events like Seatrade Cruise Asia 2024, we are confident in our ability to attract more cruise visitors and showcase the beauty and charm of our 7,641 islands,” she said.
The newly-implemented cruise visa waiver program is a key initiative, making the Philippines more accessible and welcoming to international cruise travelers.
