FOUR Indian nationals and a Malaysian citizen were intercepted by Immigration and coast guard personnel who attempted to illegally enter the country through the southern part of the Philippines, known as the country’s backdoor.
BI intelligence division chief Fortunato Manahan Jr. said members of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in Tawi-Tawi reported monitoring the four Indians aboard a vessel.
The aliens were identified as Lakhwinder Singh Brar ; Parwinder Singh, Sukhraj Singh Dubb and Jagjit Chohan.
Upon arrival of the vessel in Bongao, the PCG spotted a Malaysian named Bryan Joel Ng who was allegedly traveling with a Filipina girlfriend.
During the initial interview, all the four Indian men were found to have no Immigration stamps in their travel papers, while Ng was unable to present his passport.
It was learned that the four Indian nationals were blacklisted by the Philippines, and were attempting to enter illegally to circumvent Immigration inspections. Meanwhile, Ng was suspected of complicity in trafficking.
