Senator Raffy Tulfo has announced plans to investigate a recent incident at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3, where a Vietnamese woman was seen naked at the departure area.

The woman, a resident of Binh Minh, Vietnam, appeared for immigration clearance at the airport before boarding a Cebu Pacific Air flight for Hanoi on June 8. She was reportedly offloaded.

According to reports, the woman undressed in the restroom and walked naked, causing a disturbance in the area.   Tulfo said the airport security, at that moment, appeared surprised and unsure of what to do.

“Although the Vietnamese national was allowed to leave the country the same day after being examined at a clinic, the video shows that the airport security appeared surprised and unsure of what to do in such a situation, as they did not stop the woman from causing a disturbance at the airport,” he said.

Tulfo, who chairs the Senate Committee on Public Services, is concerned about the lack of proper training for airport security personnel to handle such situations.

The senator plans to file a Senate resolution to investigate the incident, particularly the handling of security protocols at the airport facilities.

He also emphasized the importance of identifying the roles and duties of the Philippine National Police – Aviation Security Group, Manila International Airport Authority, Office for Transportation Security, blue guards, and other agencies to avoid the blame game.

Tulfo believes that proper systems and security protocols are needed to prevent such incidents from happening again.

In situations like this, Tulfo stressed that it is important to identify the roles and duties to be performed by the Philippine National Police – Aviation Security Group, Manila International Airport Authority, Office for Transportation Security, blue guards, and other concerned agencies to avoid the blame game.

“It’s time to have proper systems and security protocols in place to prevent this from happening again!” he said.
