Over 100,000 local and overseas employment opportunities are up for grabs in the ‘Araw ng Kalayaan’ job fairs in 43 sites nationwide, in celebration of the 126th anniversary of the Philippine Independence on June 12, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said.
The department is inviting job seekers to visit the nearest job fair site in their area and take advantage of the 106,298 local vacancies and 5,165 overseas vacancies offered by more than 1,000 employers.
The top vacancies are production worker/operator; customer service representative; cashier, bagger, sales clerk; laborer, carpenter, painter; and service crew, cook, waiter and server.
In a statement, the DOLE said figures for vacancies and participating employers are expected to increase in the coming days.
The labor department also noted that most job fairs will be conducted in malls for the convenience of applicants and employers.
Job seekers are encouraged to be ready with their application requirements, such as resume or curriculum vitae, diploma, transcript of records, government clearances, and certificate of employment for those formerly employed.
A one-stop-shop of government services will also be available for job seekers who want to process their pre-employment documents.
