Navy building new quarters in Kalayaan

The Philippine Navy on Thursday broke ground for a two-storey facility in Barangay Pag-asa, Kalayaan, Palawan meant to provide a more comfortable living quarters for its frontline personnel.

The event was viewed as a “significant milestone that marks a crucial development in enhancing the living conditions and operational readiness of the naval forces stationed in strategic locations such as Kalayaaan.”

Philippine Coast Guard commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan attended the ground-breaking ceremony along with some senators including Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri.

“This facility is not just a building. It symbolizes our unwavering support and commitment to the brave men and women who safeguard our maritime territories. Ensuring their comfort and operational efficiency is paramount to our national security,” Zubiri said in his keynote address.

He was accompanied by Senate majority leader Joel Villanueva and Senator Joseph Victor Ejercito.
