Kapamilya artists are spreading the power of music to the next generation with a nationwide series of campus tours organized by StarPop.
On April 11, Arellano University in Manila came alive with relatable stories and captivating songs. ABS-CBN Music artists Alexa Ilacad, KD Estrada, Jason Dy, Jeremy G, Angela Ken, FANA, Kice, and Jem Macatuno all brought their A-game, leaving the audience wanting more.
This event exemplifies StarPop’s mission: to introduce a new generation of Filipino talent and ignite a deeper appreciation of Original Pilipino Music (OPM) among today’s youth.
StarPop label head Roque “Rox” Santos said, “We’re discovering a new breed of artists and singer-songwriters. Pareho silang ng experiences, ng nararamdaman with today’s generation. Ito yung mga artists na pwedeng kumonek sa Gen Z.”
The Saint Louis University stop in Baguio City last March meanwhile featured rising talents Anji Salvacion, Maki, Gello Marquez, Trisha Denise, and Nameless Kids, alongside Angela, Jem, and Kio, who treated the audience with their original music and artistry.
The tour’s next stop was the University of the East-Caloocan this Friday (April 19) with performances from Alexa, Angela, FANA, Gello, Jem, Jeremy, KD, and Marlo Mortel.
Last year, the StarPop Campus Tour also went to Capitol University and PHINMA-Cagayan de Oro College in CDO, La Consolacion College in Bacolod, and Adamson University and Far Eastern University in Manila.
