American national Lee O’Brian, an ex-partner of comedienne Pokwang, has been deported for working in the country without a permit, according to the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
Pokwang, whose real name is Marietta Subong, previously filed a complaint against O’Brian for rendering work in different production companies without securing the required permits from BI and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
The BI found merit in her complaint and ordered O’Brian deported in December for violation of the conditions of his stay.
O’Brian filed a motion for reconsideration, but his appeal was ultimately denied.
BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco said O’Brian was deported on the eve of April 8 onboard a Philippine Airlines flight to San Francisco after the bureau confirmed he has no pending local case in the Philippines.
As a consequence of his deportation, O’Brian’s name has been included in the BI’s blacklist, barring any future attempts to come back to the Philippines.
