Striking Rome runway show

Luxury fashion brand COS made a grand return to the runway scene, presenting its Spring Summer 2024 collections in a unique location — the Corsie Sistine in Rome.

The awe-inspiring venue, part of a lovingly restored 15th-century hospital (Europe’s oldest!), provided a stunning backdrop for 33 elegant looks, modeled by icons including Italian supermodel Mariacarla Boscono.

The runway also saw the debut of the luxury fashion brand’s Atelier collection

The collection itself offered a beautiful contrast between modern and historical. Airy, voluminous pieces crafted from transparent fabrics were juxtaposed with soft, sculptural lines, creating a sense of both elegance and confidence. Billowing off-the-shoulder tops and wide-leg trousers offered a dynamic silhouette, while classic tailoring was reimagined in loose, unstructured forms.

The show also marked the debut of COS’s latest Atelier collection, known for its focus on fine fabrics and impeccable details. Statement pieces featuring hand-pleated details, flowing maxi dresses, and elongated sleeves offered a luxurious take on modern trends. Experimentation with materials and techniques added depth and texture, with hand-painted edges on pleated trousers and unique manipulations on leather jackets and footwear.

The pieces from the brand’s collections are made with sustainably sourced materials such as paper yarns, recycled materials, and Responsible Wool Standard-certified yarns

Lightness, both physical and visual, played a key role in the collection. Translucent fabrics infused with color created a sense of airiness, while bold pops of red stood out against a backdrop of neutral tones. This commitment to both modern design and enduring quality is a hallmark of the COS brand, with a focus on sustainable materials like paper yarns and recycled fabrics.

COS maintains its commitment through a blend of traditional craftsmanship and modernist design principles. It incorporates sustainably sourced materials, including paper yarns, recycled materials, and yarns certified by the Responsible Wool Standard.
