One of the problems faced by many Filipinas is the lack of openness when it comes to conversations surrounding women’s health. Most of the time, such topics are considered to be taboo which can be quite problematic for those who may need immediate care and support.
Eager to provide a solution to such a problem, Eluvo Health serves as the Philippines’ first women’s digital and physical health care provider. Featuring a team of physicians, medical experts, and support professionals, Eluvo offers an all-in-one hybrid approach to women’s healthcare through its website.
During its launch on March 21, Founder and CEO Dr. Jaycy Violago-Olivarez expounded on the growing need for a better approach to women’s health in the country.
“The Philippines is already five to ten years behind in terms of the services and the systems that are set in place to cater for women’s health,” said Dr. Olivarez.
She also pointed out the country’s lack of access to information regarding women’s health as well as the gaps within the healthcare system which makes it hard to receive holistic care.
To address such issues, Eluvo came up with a solution through its “talk, test, and treat” system. Through its website, patients will be able to schedule a consultation with a doctor that will address their concerns. Afterward, patients will no longer have to go through the hassle of scheduling their own procedures as the Eluvo team will do it for them.
“We have [a] digital platform where we can do our home services—specimen collection or ultrasound procedures. You get the results within the next 12 to 24 hours,” said Dr. Olivarez, further noting that once Eluvo’s physical clinic opens, the results can be received within an hour.
Apart from that, Dr. Olivarez also said that Eluvo is partnering with an IVF center that will be catering to reproductive endocrinology once the physical clinic is opened. The health care provider also caters to services surrounding the field of function and aesthetic gynecology.
“Hopefully, once the physical clinic is also up, we’d really be able to create not just, you know, a safe space for women to talk but really build the ecosystem that is necessary to progress or lift the level of women’s health care,” said Dr. Olivarez.
Eluvo Health is set to open its physical clinics in Parqal Mall and a residential tower in Rockwell later this year.
