My experience with the company’s culture and its CSR initiatives

As I progressed through my Lasallian Business Leadership Course, I understood the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility. It gives a sense of validation or fulfillment if you are proud of what you do at work or developing a project that could impact many people. Being a part of a company with a great culture and reputation uplifts self-esteem. People would generally recognize employees of that company with the same impression, which is aligned with what the business promotes through its mission, vision, and ethical practices.

I have been a part of Security Bank Corporation for just a year. The company’s culture is very nice from the few moments I have been a part of this organization. We practice an open communication regardless of the rank. It feels odd at first when you come from a company with a traditional communication approach. This way, more people are empowered and motivated to do their tasks. Subordinates are not limiting themselves if they have opinions and suggestions to offer on the table. When people are heard, they feel important. This is one of the company’s best practices: people help nurture other people.

Security Bank Corporation’s vision is to be the most customer-centric bank in the country. I also find the bank to be people-centric because it works in many different ways to provide the best for its employees and families. One of the bank’s missions is to establish, operate, and support meaningful and sustainable programs and projects on education and community development geared towards the social and economic amelioration of the less privileged in communities where the Security Bank has a presence.

The bank provides scholarships to its employees and their children. After graduation, the bank also offers employment to students who have earned degrees related to banking. Aside from educational assistance, the bank also has The Build A School, Build A Nation Program, wherein they build classrooms by partnering with local government units. Security Bank also helps communities through other means, such as donations of learning materials and tree-planting volunteer drives.

To pay the kindness forward, employees and the public can donate to the “Regalo Mo, Kinabukasan Ko, Scholarship Program.” This will help agency personnel and their children go to school. This initiative is excellent because the bank hires many people from various agencies to fulfill specific tasks. Most agencies hire people with a straightforward contract and compensation package. The Regalo Mo, Kinabukasan Ko Scholarship Program could greatly help external hire employees enjoy a benefit commonly granted to direct hire employees.

Security Bank Corporation’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility has translated into tangible benefits for marginalized communities in the Philippines. Through its foundation’s programs, the bank has significantly improved access to education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities, contributing to poverty alleviation and social development. This impactful work has been made possible through strategic partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, and local communities, demonstrating the bank’s dedication to maximizing its reach and impact.

The bank’s approach to corporate social responsibility is well-positioned to continue its work and expand its impact in the years to come. By leveraging its expertise, experience, and networks, the foundation can strengthen its programs, engage new partners, and explore innovative approaches to addressing social issues. With a growing emphasis on corporate social responsibility and sustainable development, the Security Bank Foundation has the potential to be a key player in driving positive change in the Philippines and beyond.
